Every line of your itinerary has its own controls: rewrite it yourself, ask the AI to change just that line, or remove it — and only that line changes, guaranteed. Remove a night's lodging and a placeholder holds the spot until you fix it; informal plans like "staying with family" are honored as real lodging.

Tell us once, or just plan trips normally and set your own times and stop lengths — Expedition works out how you like a day to run and builds every day that way. It keeps that answer separately for each kind of trip, so what you want on a solo weekend, on an adults-only trip and on a week with the kids and the grandparents never get mixed together. Your packing habits and the changes you keep asking for are learned the same way, per kind of trip. You can see everything it has worked out — and delete it — from your account.

Venues that require advance reservations, timed-entry tickets, or permits — an Antelope Canyon tour, a timed-entry national park — are flagged with a warning and where to book. On Expedition, each flagged venue also comes with a reliable backup option in case the reservation is gone.

Most people have already started. Attach the spreadsheet, the screenshot of park hours, the PDF confirmation, the photo of a page you tore out — one file per trip — and we read your dates, the places you have already chosen, the tickets you already hold and the prices you have already found, then plan around them instead of asking you to type it all again. We keep only the details we pull out; the file itself is never stored, and confirmation numbers and account numbers are deliberately not extracted.

Every reservation the trip needs is one checklist, and on Expedition each line becomes something you can actually run: mark it booked, put someone's name on it, give it a due date. Tick it in the checklist or on the day itself — they are the same thing, so they can never disagree. "What's next" gathers everything still open across all your trips, overdue first.

Drag any stop to a different point in the day and the whole day re-times around it. Drag a drive on the map onto the road you would rather take — the coast road, the pass you wanted — and we ask Google for the real time and mileage along the route you drew, update the day, and re-cost the fuel. Keyboard arrows do the same thing if you would rather not drag.

Hiking and walking stops carry a link to the trails around that exact point, drawn from the same open mapping data the major hiking apps are built on. Free to open, no extra account.

Add the whole trip to Apple, Google or Outlook calendar as day-by-day entries, or print it for the glovebox. Saved trips work offline once you have opened them, so a canyon with no signal does not take your itinerary with it.

Type in any place you want to see some day, and when a trip passes near one — at the destination or along the road to it — we work it into the plan without you having to remember it was on the list. Saving a suggested destination works on every plan; the typed-in list and the automatic pick-up are what these plans add.

In the week before you leave, check for the recurring festivals, markets and events happening where you are going, each with a pointer to confirm it yourself. Runs only when you ask for it.

Every Expedition itinerary comes with one-click search links to the major flight, hotel, and vacation-rental sites — already filled in with your destination, dates, and party size. One click takes you from plan to booking.

When your trip visits national or state parks, we add direct links to the official reservation portals for each park, so campsites, timed entry, and permits get booked before they sell out.

Booked a flight, hotel, rental car, or cruise? Paste the confirmation email into your saved trip and the reservation — dates, confirmation number, cost — is added to the trip automatically for the whole group to see.

Share a saved trip with everyone traveling with you. Companions on the Expedition plan can edit — adding notes and bookings — while companions on Free or Explorer plans get view-only access. Notes are free-text and can be pinned to a specific day, so "bring quarters for the laundromat" lands on the day it matters.
